In this chapter titled "pudhiya pirapu" (new birth), Mamallar and Sivagami sit under the Magizha tree in the outskirsts of the village while Aayanar inspects the rocks around that area for carving statues. Mamallar expresses his love to Sivagami as the scent of the Magizha flower whose fragrance doesn't fade in a day unlike the jasmine flower.
